The Polytechnic of Namibia that started registration of senior students last week Friday until yesterday, will start registering freshmen on Monday.
The registration of first-year students was initially planned for today before the date was shifted to Monday, said Melanie Niemand, an assistant in the office of the registrar. This is because the Grade 12 results are not yet out.
The results for those who sat for the last Namibia Senior Secondary Certificate (NSSC) Ordinary Examinations for 2007 will only be made available during the last week of January and this prompted the Polytechnic to adjust its pre-selection schedule for freshmen.
All qualifying applicants are requested to report to the Polytechnic on Monday, January 28 for registration in Travel and Tourism Management, Hospitality Management, Office Management and Technology, Human Resource Management and Economics.
And all prospective students should present themselves at 08h00 at the registration venue at the Polytechnic Main Campus.
The pre-selection for all other programmes will remain as scheduled and qualifying candidates must report as indicated in the admission letters they received.
Niemand said candidates for all programmes should bring their documents to the pre-selection and registration process, documents such as final year Grade 12 results, candidate number for the 2007 NSSC examinations, identity document or birth certificate and the admission letter received from the Polytechnic of Namibia.
The Polytechnic of Namibia’ s office of the bursar, said that loan or grant holders would be registered for the 2008 academic year provided they have their original letters of award or continuation of loan, issued by the Ministry of Education.
This only applies to senior students.
She said all first-year students with acknow-ledgement letters will be allowed to register for the 2008 academic year provided they pay the required deposit on the date of registration.
