Bank Windhoek rewards central estate agents

Bank Windhoek’s Annual Central Estate Agents Awards ceremony, hosted in Windhoek, recently recognised Aqua Real Estate, Rightmove Properties Windhoek and Arnel Properties as the top three central estate agencies. Rightmove Properties Windhoek, Yellow Square Properties Trust and Just Properties were announced as the best Achievers in the Residential Estate Agency category. The top Achievers in the Commercial Estate Agency were Aqua Real Estate, Arnel Properties and Rightmove Properties Windhoek.

Immaculate Real Estate’s Horatius Abrahams was the winner of the estate agent with the highest volume of transactions. Nukongo Amwele from Overside Property Management, came second, while Archie Graham from Jimmey Realtors was third.

Abrahams; Rightmove Properties Windhoek’s Lourette Liebenberg; Hashtag Home’s Jan Erasmus; Arnel Properties’ Leandra Grobler; Nicolaas and Hermanus Dreyer from Aqua Real Estate received recognition for submitting a Loan Business at a value of N$15 Million and above.

Bank Windhoek’s executive officer of retail banking services and specialist finance James Chapman shared an overall view of the property market’s challenges on a worldwide scale, further assuring the estate agents that Bank Windhoek will keep supporting the industry.

“The property market faced many challenges in 2020 – and with every challenge, there are opportunities, which is why Bank Windhoek has always believed that the communities we operate in should be better because the Bank is here,” said Chapman as he reminded the agents of the Bank’s home loan product, the 360 months home loan creation, which extends home loans to 30 years.

“At Bank Windhoek, we would like to be your preferred business partner for growth and a connector of positive change. Thank you for your resilience shown during these challenging times,” he said.

Recapping the 2020 property business environment

Aqua Real Estate’s Hermanus Dreyer said despite the challenges, 2020 was a great year.

“We took advantage of the available technology to make our business relevant. We also made sure that our relationships with our stakeholders were the best,” said Dreyer. Abrahams shared that due to the correct planning in 2019, business was good during 2020. “As per Covid-19, we did not feel much of the impact but the lockdowns were tough because we could not do onsite visits, but we had a good year in sales,” he said. Liebenberg said: “During the lockdowns, we took the time to restructure and refine our client-centric approach in doing business. We worked hard and made sure we understood and met our customers’ needs.”

Nukongo Amwele from Overside Property Management recalled that she believes in word-of-mouth for business growth.

The estate agents agreed that Bank Windhoek’s relationship-driven support helped them through tough times. They also added that the Bank’s 30-year home loan helped many customers afford a house and that the Bank’s staff are helpful, with a thriving service-oriented culture.

“Flexibility is essential in our profession, and we are glad that Bank Windhoek understands this concept,” said Amwele.

Bank Windhoek’s Annual Estate Agent Awards offers recognition to residential and commercial estate agents, agencies and developers from the northern, central and coastal regions for their commitment, loyalty and support to Bank Windhoek and its customers.
