Basketball playoffs  get underway

Playoff matches in the Khomas Basketball Association kicked off over the weekend at the Unam gymnasium and kept spectators entertained and anxious to see their teams advance further in the competition.

Action commenced on Saturday with premier division men’s games, which saw Unam Wolves square off against Tsumeb Titan in a match that Wolves won by 97-69.

In the women’s premier division, Unam Sparks beat Legends 66-56. Afro Stars beat Lions BC 81-68 in the first division, while Titan B cruised past Unam Raiders with a score of 68-52.

On Sunday, in the women’s premier matches, Unam Phoenix thrashed Silversword by 90-39, while in the men’s premier division, Tsumeb Titan lost to Unam Wolves by 108-110. Unam Rebels, on the other hand, defeated Titans 78-71 in a tight contest.

There are still three more weeks of playoff matches to go before the top two in each division square off in the finals.
