THE chairman of Katutura outfit Black Africa, Thomas Adams, says the club will appeal against the order to forfeit their first three matches of the season and fined N$100 000 by the Second Stream First Division disciplinary committee yesterday.

This verdict emanates from their failure to play matches against Latinos FC, Blue Boys and Eleven Arrows. In addition, the club was given 30-day deadline to pay the fine. 

Adams said as the option to appeal against the sanction is provided for, and they will take it. He also expressed hope that those who caused this situation can see the seriousness and the damage they caused. “This situation has been caused by apparent BA supporters. For them it’s about protecting a certain individual. They are going all out to cause hooliganism and to make everything within the club look bad,” said Adams.

He further voiced confidence ahead of the looming court case that BA faces, that it will be in their favour. “I have played for this club for close to 10 years uninterrupted. I even played in African continental competitions. This is about protecting the brand of the club,” said Adams.

The court case is about the leadership dispute between two factions of BA. The disputes are over the newly adopted constitution and the leadership elected after that.

Asked how they would afford paying the legal fees, Adams shared that they have people who understand the situation they find themselves in and support them. The two factions will appear in court again on 29 March.
