The much-anticipated Zone Six Darts Championship is set to get underway this afternoon at the southern town of Keetmanshoop in the //Kharas region, which will see the local side challenging for silverware.
The competition officially starts today and ends on Saturday, 3 September, and will see five other countries joining Namibia at the Championship. The other participating countries are Zimbabwe, Botswana, Eswatini and Zambia.
Namibia Darts Federation (NDF) president Buks Blaauw said the host team is ready and has prepared well for the tournament. He added the team that will be representing Namibia was selected during national trials held in Windhoek earlier this year.
“We are ready, as the host nation and the players are ready as well. We are hoping to come out as winner of the tournament. That’s our goal,” he said.
Zimbabwe are the current defending champions and the tournament will consist of women and men’s teams – all battling for top honours.
