THE president of Netball Namibia, Rebekka Goagoses is pleased with the competitive spirit of players in the MTC Namibia Netball Premier League.

She said the level of competition is rising, notably in the second round of matches played. “If you look at the last results in Tsumeb, the scores and margins are not that high, meaning other clubs also did their homework to perform decently on court.

“One cannot say the defending champions, Namibia Correctional Service, will defend their title successfully. There are younger players, and a lot of changes and improvements in clubs. As matches go, clubs will pick up pace,” she said.

Over the weekend, exciting netball matches were once again played at the Patrick Iyambo Police College court in Windhoek.

Here are the weekend results:

Saturday: Mighty Gunners 41-39 Unam Ogongo NC (Gunners’ Gleneth Kazonganga – player of the match)
