ONGWEDIVA – Former Cabinet minister David Namwandi, who lost his son on Monday night, has eulogised him as a humble and kind-hearted person.

The 30-year-old Richard Megameno Namwandi took his own life by hanging himself with a rope at an Ongwediva guesthouse.

According to the police crime report, no suicide note was left behind. “My son was such a humble and kind person. I will always remember him as a compassionate person who had so much love for everyone,” said the grieving father.

Although he could not dwell much on his history due to the sensitive nature of the death, Namwandi said funeral arrangements will be announced at a later stage.

In a different incident, a 24-year-old man died on Tuesday, while his two other co-workers were receiving medical treatment after a trench they were digging for the construction of a sewer reticulation plant at Ongwediva collapsed on them.
