Trustco NTA junior tennis tourney this weekend

Trustco Group Holdings, together with the Namibia Tennis Association (NTA), will this weekend host their annual NTA Junior Tennis Tournament for 2022.

With a high number of players expected, the event will be hosted at multiple venues such as the Police Club, Central Tennis Courts, DTS as well as SKW courts.

The playoffs and round-robin matches will start at 14h00 on Friday, with the semi-finals scheduled for 08h00 on Saturday morning and the finals set for 11h00 at the Central Tennis Courts, also on Saturday.

Trustco has a long-standing relationship with the NTA, and this junior tournament will serve as the lead-in to the prestigious 2022 Trustco NTA Junior Masters, set to be hosted in the capital in October.

Head of corporate communications at Trustco Neville Basson reiterated the group’s support for the sport through its CSI initiatives, saying: “Trustco has been a trusted partner for the NTA since 2015, supporting and making sure that top-quality players come through the ranks”.

“In conjunction with the NTA, we work to better the game of junior tennis in Namibia, and the idea of future international stars produced by our support to annual tournaments remains a tangible goal for us. We know this weekend will produce some scintillating tennis once again.”

NTA chairman of junior tennis Santie van der Walt thanked all parents and players for their collective commitment once again.

“You ensure that Namibian tennis stays close to the baseline of success. Trustco, thank you for your years of support. It is only through your long-standing commitment over the last seven years that junior tennis is within reach of the heights expected internationally. We foresee an exciting weekend of passion and grit from the players, eagerly supported by their enthusiastic parents.”
