2007-06-21Staff Report 2 "By Anna Shilongo WINDHOEK Hot on the heels of a macabre find along the B1 road to Okahandja at the weekend, two thighs belonging to an unknown body were yesterday discovered at a rest spot along the road by workers of Star Pricast Company, some 30 km before Rehoboth. The workers were reportedly in the process of emptying out the garbage from the bin around 09h00 when they made the gruesome find in the bin. Spokesperson of the Namibian Police Chief Inspector Angula Amulungu speculated that the body parts found might be linked to those of the unknown woman that were discovered last week Sunday on the B1 road, some 30 km between Windhoek and Okahandja. Amulungu added that the body parts were cut in the same way as the unidentified torso. The police are working flat out to solve the mystery. Amulungu also said it would be difficult to determine whether or not the newly discovered body parts belong together with those of last week's find before a DNA test is carried out. Asked when the DNA test results would be available, he could not give an exact date, adding that it might take a long time, since such tests are normally not conducted in the country. ""That of Mabula was sent to Canada, but I am not sure about this one, maybe it will be sent to South Africa,"" he said. Once again, the police spokesperson made an appeal for information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect(s), as well as the identity of the woman. ""Up to now we have no clue who is behind these gruesome murders. We urge that person to stop playing hide and seek with the police."" Calling it a serious case, he added that it is becoming more difficult by the day. There is still no concrete evidence. Early this week, the police made an offer of N$60 000 to anyone with information leading to the arrest of the murderer in respect of the person whose body was discovered along the B1 main road last week. The offer still stands, he said. At the same time, members of the public are called upon to identify the body parts. The body parts found along the Rehoboth road yesterday morning were also frozen and wrapped in black plastic. About 20 km away on the same road, the head of the late Juanita Mabula was found wrapped in a plastic bag. During the operation, the police also discovered a fresh cowhide and the hides of three donkeys, as well as some hoofs, some 20 km from Windhoek. The police suspect that the remains might be those of animals belonging to nearby farmers who may have lost their animals and are probably still searching for them. Farmers in the surrounding areas who might be missing some stock are called upon to approach the police in Windhoek. The police also took time to warn thieves against stea-ling livestock.
