The stage is set for an electrifying conclusion to the 2025 MTC Netball Namibia (NN) Premier League tomorrow at the Khomasdal netball courts.
Fans can expect high-intensity action, emotional farewells and a showcase of Namibia’s rising netball talent.
Reflecting on the season, NN president Juanita Witbeen praised the growth displayed by all clubs, players and officials.
“As we bring the MTC Netball Namibia Premier League to a close, I want to commend each and every one of you for the passion, commitment and sportsmanship you displayed throughout the competition,” she said.
“Looking back at the rounds, we can proudly say they were competitive, vibrant and filled with moments that showcased the growth of our players, coaches and officials alike. The discipline, structures of play and overall performance levels have improved significantly. Each match brought valuable lessons, exciting challenges – and most importantly, a sense of pride in Namibian netball,” she added. Witbeen encouraged clubs to build on their progress and use the lessons learned this season as foundations for even greater success.
“Together, we are laying the groundwork for the future of Namibian netball. Let’s continue to build, support and elevate our game, round by round, season by season,” she emphasised.
Tigers Netball Club head coach Viva Kamberipa also weighed in, describing the 2025 season as ‘a rollercoaster of growth and learning’.
“The season has been long, yet so short and full of highs and lows. We are currently in fifth position. Although we could have been medal contenders, a few costly mistakes in key games denied us that opportunity,” he stated.
“However, our improvement, especially in last weekend’s games in Divundu, was clear for all to see. The players have grown individually and as a unit. Unfortunately, it’s too late to chase a medal, but we take the growth forward, finish strong and build on this momentum for next season,” he remarked.
Kamberipa added that the final weekend promises to be fiercely contested.
“Top three positions are secured – but from fourth place downwards, teams are fighting hard to secure a respectable finish. Others are battling to avoid the relegation zone. Khomasdal will be buzzing. It’s going to be a season finale worth watching,” he said.
As the log currently stands, Namibia Correctional Service (NCS) are poised to defend their crown, sitting comfortably at the top of the table having won all their matches.
Otjozontjupa Nampol are in second place.
Unam Ogongo is in third place, whereas Afrocat Lions is in fourth position.
Bottom feeders Unam Jaguars and Cuca Tops are up for relegation.
