The Ministry of Information and Communication Technology yesterday announced the unveiling of the presidential portrait of Namibia’s fourth President, Nangolo Mbumba.

The ministry’s executive director Audrin Mathe announced that the portrait is now available for display in public and private entities, and will replace that of late president Hage Geingob.  Geingob passed away in February 2024 after being diagnosed with cancer.  Mathe said Mbumba’s portrait will hang alongside that of Founding President Sam Nujoma.

“This portrait symbolises not only the individual who now holds the highest office in the country, but also embodies our nation’s aspirations, values and collective hopes,” he said.

He announced that the Namibia Press Agency will be the exclusive producer and distributor of the new presidential portrait, which is available in A2 size for N$1 800 each for framed portraits, and N$500 for unframed portraits.

The portraits will also be available for purchase at the information
ministry’s regional offices country-
wide.  Soft-copy portraits of Vice President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah are also available on request, he noted.
