MARIENTAL – Former Mariental Urban Councilor Nico Mungenga has called on political leaders to prioritise the interest of all Namibians, regardless of which party wins the upcoming elections.

During an interview with Nampa on Monday, the former councillor said it does not matter which party or elected local authority wins the election, as long as they have the best interest of all Namibians at heart.

“It does not matter who wins at the end of the day, whether its LPM, PDM, Swapo or IPC, as long as they take all Namibians’ interests as their core obligation,” stated Mungenga.
Mungenga’s comments come as the nation is getting prepared for the elections on Wednesday.

Nampa also approached Mariental locals to gauge their readiness and excitement for the upcoming elections and to get their thoughts on the importance of voting.
One such youth was Queen !Gorases, a 20-year-old resident of Mariental.

“I am a registered voter and can’t wait to cast my vote. I urge all the young people to do the same,” said !Gorases .
Erastus Matheus highlighted the importance of youth participation in election.

“To cast your vote is very important because that’s your weapon for change. 

If you vote for the leader you believe will bring change to our country, it helps a lot,” said Matheus.
Similarly, 24-year-old Queen Nawases emphasised the need for youth engagement in shaping the country’s future.

“I encourage the youth to stand up and vote because if we want to change next year, we have to stand in the queue at the polling station on 27 November 2024,” she stated.
