After countless waits, the queen is finally ready to own the stage. She’s pretty much able to make anything look sexy on stage. Many may have witnessed that a times on the Song Night stage. Besides her incredible vocals, Priscilla, AKA the Namibian Dessert Queen, will bring it all in one night with her energetic brand and performance. Selma Neshiko reports from Windhoek.
On Monday the Song Night ambassador launches her debut album, Juicy, at the Warehouse Theatre. With Kizomba, Afro-Pop, Afro-Jive, Gospel and Pop tracks, Juicy consists of a tasty and exceptional mix of groovy and emotional tunes produced by the brilliant pianist, vocalist, drummer and producer, Joseph Kaseke. “This is like giving birth all over again. Only now the first sound you hear is music and not a cry. I am grateful to Song Night for believing in me, and I am thankful to everyone who has ever supported me. Thank you,” delights Priscilla.
On her debut album Priscilla shares her succulent stories through tracks like Malva Pudding, Music Saved Me and many more. With inspiration from Aretha Franklin, Brenda Fassie, Whitney Houston, Yvonne Chaka Chaka and Alicia Keys, Priscilla always captures souls with her incredible big voice, something many know her very well for, delivering!
