The Cantare Audire Choir will end its year’s activities with two concerts in the German Lutheran Church (Christuskirche) on October 27 and 28 at 20h00, it was announced in a press statement.

Entrance is N$50 for adults and N$25 for students and learners. Advance tickets are available at Medisun Pharmacy in the Wernhil Shopping Centre.

On the evenings of the concerts, tickets will be available at the door from 19h15. There will be a N$5 discount on advance tickets.

The Cantare Audire Choir was founded in 1972 by Ernst van Biljon and has travelled extensively. They have performed in South Africa, England and Wales, Germany Austria, Belgium, France and Hungary. They have been on a tour of Scandinavia as well as the US and gave concerts in Egypt, as guests of the Egyptian government. They were one of the first choirs from Southern Africa to present African Folk Music overseas and because of the conductor’s interest in indigenous Namibian music, many choirs abroad are singing music that was unknown to them a decade or two ago.

Cantare Audire (meaning to sing and listen) did not only spend their energy abroad. The local public is used to hearing at least one or two concerts every year and apart from all the acappella concerts, many works with choir, orchestra and soloists were performed, like ‘Hendels Messiah’, ‘The Mozart Requiem’ and ‘Haydn’s Sch???_?_’???_?’???_?
