It will be nothing but top genetics, exceptional temperament, and supreme quality on display at today’s Uhuru Production Auction at the Agra/Bank Windhoek Ring in Windhoek, which will see topmost Bonsmara, Brahman and Simbra bulls and females all going under the hammer.
Over 27 bulls and 54 commercial females of all three breeds will be on full display at today’s highly anticipated auction, which starts at 18h00.
Some of the top-quality Brahmans that will be on auction are from Pangii Brahmane of Bryan Hoveka and Nguma Brahmane of farmer Ebson Uanguta, while Okozonduno Bonsmara of veteran farmer-cum-business executive Vetumbuavi Mungunda will again bring a different touch to the event with their unrivalled Bonsmara bulls. Highly rated Bonsmara bulls from Schumacher Bonsmara of renowned farmer Marc Schumacher will also be on offer at today’s auction, while Hatagob Simbras of Charles Urib will be in the mix offering some of their topline Simbra bulls.
Bonsmaras are known for their high-quality beef and resistance to local diseases, as well as excellent mothering ability under all environmental conditions, while Brahmans are best known for their extreme tolerance to heat and resistant to insects due to their thick skin.
Also, Brahman cattle live longer than many other breeds, often producing calves at ages 15 and older. Meanwhile, Simbras are widely known as the all-purpose breed, as they are not only an outstanding choice for maternal and survival characteristics in hot environments, but also produce modern, lean, high-quality beef products.
