Last race ready For a showdown

Home Front Page News Last race ready For a showdown

MOTORSPORT  is going to go out with a bang this year, as the last race for the season is heading out to the Tony Rust Race Track on Saturday, December 7, when drivers will have a last shot at the championship title.

This forms the sixth leg of the Namibian Circuit Racing Championships, and organisers are expecting the competition to be fierce, as the title chase is sure to bring out the ‘beast’ in the top running contenders.

Racing will start at 10h00 with Go Karts, and follow on with circuit racing as the first car gets on the track at 13h00. Young and talented Francois Smit is comfortably leading on the championship scoreboard driving a Toyota Conquest 1600 and after such a successful year, he is hoping to hang onto this till the last chequered flag drops.

Not far  behind in the battle for glory is Marius Botha who has dominated the Bantam Bakkie Class, and is in there with a strong overall on the champs, while Marc Sternagel is creeping up with a close third overall in his BMW.

With 13 points separating these drivers three, anything can happen on the day, and excitement is building up. A grand finale race will see a nail biting dice with the Bantam bakkies going head on with the Clubmen’s Class drivers, which is certain to entertain the spectators.

Refreshments are available at the clubhouse, and everyone is welcome to come out and enjoy the day with our racing drivers.
