Former Wimbledon runner-up Milos Raonic has announced his retirement from tennis.
The 35-year-old Canadian won eight tour-level titles across his career and reached one grand slam final in 2016, when he was beaten by Andy Murray at Wimbledon.
The former world number three’s last tour-level outing came at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where he lost to Dominik Koepfer in the opening round.
“The time has come; I am retiring from tennis. This is a moment you know will come one day, but somehow you never feel ready for it. This is as ready as I will ever be,” Raonic said in a post on X.
“Tennis has been my love and obsession for most of my life. I have been the luckiest person to get to live out and fulfil my dreams,” he emphasised.
