WINDHOEK – Namibian livestock producers had reason to smile in late February when a record turnover of N$10,149 million was achieved at an Agra commercial livestock auction in Otjiwarongo where a total of 2 170 cattle were sold.

The auction sold 2 170 cattle, 83 goats and 100 sheep.

Weaners sold for an average of N$17,62/kg and a highest price of N$20.51

Tollies sold for N$18,47 average and up to N$20,77

Oxen achieved a highest price of N$25,96/kg, selling for an average of N$18,91/kg

More than 500 heifers were sold for N$17,97/kg and a highest price of N$23,15/kg

Prices for fat cows remain high with an average price of N$18,22 and a highest price of N$21,03/kg achieved at this auction.
