By Staff Reporter

WINDHOEK – Prominent Windhoek firm Aqua Services and Engineering (ASE), a Veolia company, has appointed Luther Rukira as its new managing director. He will take over from cofounder Chris Stöck, who led the company for the past 21 years.

Rukira has an extensive background in water supply and infrastructure throughout Namibia, having served as the general manager of water supply at the Namibia Water Corporation (NamWater) for the past five years.

He started his career as a hydrologist at the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Forestry just after independence in 1990, before joining NamWater in 1999.

Rukira also served as technical advisor on several international water commissions. He holds a B.Sc in Mathematical Sciences from the University of Namibia and a M.Sc. in Hydrology from the Vrije Universiteit Brussels, Belgium.

“It is with excitement that the Board of Directors and staff of ASE welcome Luther to drive the future development of ASE, as the principal technological partner and service provider to the water industry in Namibia,” the firm said in a statement.
