RUNDU – Antonio Sainga (33) is a rare breed of entrepreneur, running both a thriving printing shop and a bustling household appliance repair service from a small storefront in Rundu.
Sainga is also a DSTV and GOTV installer at the river town of Rundu by servicing surrounding areas and meeting essential needs for the community. “I’m also a Multi-Choice accredited installer for DSTV and GOtv and with that we supply such products and render these services,’’ he said.
Sainga born in Sauyemwa, is the owner and founder of Antonio’s global computer solution in Rundu located in Maria Mwengere road, between Rundu police station and the Rundu open market.
“We do printing and offer IT solutions, and we sell computers and many more,’’ said the industrious Sainga, whose shop now employs 5 young people including himself. He also does printing jobs for local businesses and residents by repairing broken household appliances. Over time, Sainga has become the neighbourhood’s go-to problem-solver with his printing and IT solution shop.
“We do large format printing, make photocopies, T-shirt printing, binding and any kind of printing and graphic designing. The business was established in 2018 and has been in operation to date. “At the moment business is going smoothly, not bad at all, my target when I started were mostly young people and now adults also bring in their laptops for repairs,’’ he noted.
Among the other printing services, the business provides to customers are also shop branding, car branding, pull up and wall banners.
“I realised that even when you have gone to school many people still struggle to get jobs and that motivated me to start a business to create employment for myself and others. Most of the people I have grown up with have been struggling to get employment, so I have realised that one must first go to school and after that look for a demand in your community and start a business for yourself and others to benefit from. So as for me I thought it was best for me to do this kind of business because these services are needed on a daily basis and I don’t regret it,’’ he shared.
In motivating fellow youths, Sainga told New Era that fellow young people should always try to meet government halfway and not only focus on seeking or waiting for jobs, but rather, the focus should be to find and start a business that offer services to communities to allow them to empower others and thereby make ends meet.
“In this economy we need to be creative and innovative, we need to do proper research on what are the best business opportunities that one can tap into enrich our communities and make money,’’ he concluded.
