The MTC Salute Boxing Academy yesterday announced that it will host a boxing bonanza next month, which will feature some of the country’s top upcoming pugilists. The bonanza will take place on 14 November at the Roman Catholic Hall in the capital.
The event will be headlined by middleweight veteran boxer Lukas ‘The Demolisher’ Ndafoluma, who will square off against Christian Ukelo, and the main supporting bout will see Nathanael “Natty” Kakololo taking on Johannes Niinkoti.
Another old-time campaigner Anthony Jarman will also be in action against Daniel “Open Fire” Kashela as well as many other local top acts, who will all be out to showcase their talents.
The bonanza will see a total of 15 bouts strictly featuring local fighters and it will be a combination of boxers from various gyms across the country, not only from Salute. It was also announced that the bonanza will consist of two halves, with one half serving as a warm-up before the main events gets underway.
“This boxing bonanza will consist of two halves, and will also be a proper warm-up for the boys after a long lay-off as a result of Covid-19. We will put together a total of 15 bouts of local is lekker fights. The event will see most of our boxers exchanging blows with opponents from local gyms.
Due to the pandemic, the bonanza will be aired live on national television, NBC, and it will be live streamed on all our social media pages and on the MTC Facebook page.
This means boxing fanatics will be not allowed into the venue and we encourage them to watch TV or use the social media links to live stream the event,” said the organisers.
