WINDHOEK– Standard Bank Namibia (SBN) recently launched the 2015 calendar for the Association for Children with Language, Speech and Hearing Impairments of Namibia (CLaSH) in Windhoek.
The 18th edition of the CLaSH calendars have been printed under the theme, The Richness of Life, which ties in with the organisation’s 25th anniversary next month. “Standard Bank is proud to be associated to programmes that are aimed at empowering our communities through our corporate social investment initiatives. That is why as a Bank we annually contribute one percent of our net profit after tax generated by our business operations to corporate social investment,” said Pieré Clarke, Standard Bank’s Head of Credit for PBB and Rest of Africa.
In view of this Standard Bank Namibia availed N$115 000 to CLaSH for the production of the 2015 calendars, while the remaining funds will be used for CLaSH’s outreach activities. These activities include amongst others the general awareness on ear care, prevention of hearing loss, early education and sign language stimulation of children with communication difficulties. Clarke adds that Standard Bank is a firm believer in quality education and it understands the importance of supporting efforts that help children face their hearing difficulties to lead a successful and independent life.
CLaSH Director, Heide Beinhauer, is grateful to Standard Bank for its loyal support to the wellbeing of children at CLaSH. “Thank you Standard Bank. You continue to hold a very special place amongst our local donors. Not only because your support has extended over so many years, but also because you recognise the value of early education and do something tangible to encourage and support it,” says Beinhauer. CLaSH has been Standard Bank’s CSI project since 1998.
