Windhoek

The second round of the Bank Windhoek Schools Netball Super League got underway in Windhoek last weekend, with some of the previous years’ favourites grilling each other in highly contested encounters.

De Duine High School –  the reigning champions in the Under-17 league – got off to good start, beating Etosha Secondary School by 44 baskets to 3, before losing to Otjiwarongo Secondary School (OSS) 22-27.

OSS also enjoyed a great weekend, seeing off the trio of De Duine, Duinesig and Dr Lemmer to remain the early front-runners in this particular division.

Debutants Duinesig, one of few newcomers in the league, recorded a big surprise as they easily waltzed past their more favoured opponents and showed that they will be a major force to be reckoned with.

In the Under-19 division, defending champions Windhoek Gymnasium demonstrated that they are still a serious threat by defeating old foes Windhoek High School 46-22 and Dr Lemmer 72-5.

The next round of matches are slated for the the end of this month at the Windhoek Gymnasium Sport Festival.
