By Staff Reporter WINDHOEK All government schools in the country are to reopen on May 28, and not on May 22 as was initially announced. This was stated in a press release issued this week by the Acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Alfred Ilukena, who said: “The Ministry of Education announces that the opening day for the second term has been moved from Tuesday, May 22 to Monday, May 28, due to the public holiday of Africa Day on Friday, May 25, also an out-weekend for hostel learners.” According to Ilukena, two school days that have been lost as a result of the opening delay will be compensated for during the second term in order to stick to the 195 school days per year.
