Security guard killed during robbery

A 29-year-old security guard was shot dead while on duty early Saturday morning during an armed robbery at Brazzaville bar in Iipanya location.

According to Oshikoto police spokesperson Ellen Nehale, the incident happened at Okalunga village at about 03h00.

It is alleged that four suspects came to the bar and one of them shot and killed the victim with a pistol. 

He died on the spot.

They proceeded to the barlady’s room, broke the door to gain entry, demanded the keys for the bar and coerced her to open the safe.

It is reported that the thieves stole an estimated amount N$18 000 in cash and fled the scene in a sedan vehicle.

Suspects are unknown at this stage and no arrest has been made so far. 

The bar lady is not injured. 

The deceased’s body was transported to Omuthiya police mortuary for autopsy.
