Elizabeth Shakujungua has been nominated the Oshana regional finalist of the Cell One Road to Fame.

Shakujungua was nominated after auditions that were held at Bennies Entertainment Parking on September 1.

The 19-year-old Shakujungua is currently studying in Windhoek.

The Road to Fame project was launched in June in Windhoek to search for talent. The winner stands to win a recording contract for 12 months and a marketing and endorsement opportunities from Cell One.

One Africa will be recording all the auditions and one of the many highlights of the project is the 30-minute TV programmes that will be compiled and screened, showcasing the energy and talent of the participants and the crowds.

The next round of auditions were held in Khorixas on Saturday at the Herbert Conradie Sports Fields where local star Phura entertained the crowd.

Meanwhile, Cell One has announced that its free Friday sms has hit the million mark.

The deal allows its clients to send free sms from 00h01 until 23h59 on Fridays.

“The promotion has exceeded all previous usage estimates and on Friday 31 August 2007, one million sms were sent by Cell One customers,” said Rejoice Itembu, Cell One’s Manager Communications.

The free sms Friday runs until end of November.
