While the CAF B coaching licence will undoubtedly advance Paulus Shipanga’s career, the former Brave Gladiators’ head coach emphasises his desire to use this knowledge to empower aspiring coaches in his community.

Shipanga was one of only 25 participants to complete the vital course, hosted by the South African Football Association (SAFA) in Ekurhuleni in Gauteng. This qualification places him among a select few Namibian coaches.

Speaking to the publication, the Walvis Bay native said the course served a dual purpose. “Football is constantly evolving,” Shipanga said. “As a coach, you need to stay updated on new trends and strategies. But I also have personal coaching aspirations, and I believe that equipping myself with this knowledge is crucial to achieving them. The licence will definitely improve my chances of being considered for a national team coaching position.”

Currently without a club, Shipanga says he is in constant communication with various clubs in the Debmarine Premiership for a potential return. But beyond his personal pursuits, his focus remains on sharing his new-found knowledge with his community.

“I’m planning various programmes back in
Walvis Bay.” 

“I want to organise coaching initiatives for aspiring coaches, and collaborate with others who share my passion. I’ve already been contacted by interested teams, and I’m hopeful about securing a club position when the league resumes,”
