WINDHOEK– Eight learners and three teachers from A. Shipena Senior Secondary School are currently in Germany on an educational programme titled Cross Exchange Programme, until the end of this month.

According to one of the A Shipena teacher, Adolf Kinda, this year’s training is part of their preparations and ongoing internships in schools and educational institutions in Germany and others institution from Kenya and Burkina Faso, to meet the training for Intercultural and Educational Entrepreneurship. He adds that the Cross Exchange Programme was initiated in  2011 between the school  and the Schillergymasium, a school in German city of Münster.

The exchange programme covers a wide spectrum such as Mathematics and Science Technology, Languages, Culture and Youth Development. “A. Shipena has been benefited from this programme in different ways since the year 2011 whereby we received donations of soccer jerseys, two media projectors to enhance teaching and learning and  table of tennis equipment,” he says. This February, the school also received a Toyota Quantam Bus from Schillergymasium.

“All together we are more than happy about this massive partnership. We are pretty sure that there is still a lot to come and a lot to happen between our school and in cooperation with Schillergymasium. Also we introduced the International Reporters Projects to the newspaper group of the school and invited them to apply for the program,” Kinda concludes.
