Local artist and music producer Mentos Goagoseb, also known as DJ Dozza, has released a new single titled ‘Siren’.

The track, available on Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube, has already gained significant attention among supporters, followers, and listeners, reaching over 40 000 views on YouTube alone.

According to DJ Dozza, the track is more than just a song.

“Siren isn’t just a track; it’s an anthem of relentless ambition. Born from the hunger to rise above and the refusal to surrender when the stakes are highest, this collaboration between me and music producer Leo Large from Germany delivers raw energy with surgical precision,” he said.

Speaking to VIBEZ, DJ Dozza tapped into the influences of his sound, stemming from his value for African sounds and embracing them.

“My biggest influence has been the African sound itself. From Namibian rhythms to South African Amapiano and Afrobeats across the continent. Collaborating with producers like Leo Large has pushed me to refine my sound and bridge it to international audiences,” he explained.

DJ Dozza’s music featured in Tyla’s final homecoming concert livestream ad on Showmax, which aired multiple times.

When asked how this came about, he pointed to his promoter, Leo Large, who is also a collaborating artist on his recent drop, Siren, saying, “Leo organised all of that.”

Dozza has a clear vision and feel for his music, as evident when he discusses his intentions for the track and what he wants it to mean to his listeners.

“I want them to feel the hunger and determination embedded in the lyrics while simultaneously getting lost in the rhythm. It’s designed to make you move and reflect on the importance of never giving up,” he added.

The singer said the lyrics are designed to inspire fans with a message of resilience and determination, one that they can carry beyond the dance floor.

The producer has worked with well-known artists over the years, including Mr Makoya, Jericho, Female Donkey and Tswazis, to name but a few.

DJ Dozza’s other notable achievements include producing the new HopSol Youth League soccer TV show theme song and producing Jericho’s Best Rap/Hip-Hop track in 2017.
