RUNDU – A nine-year-old boy was bitten to death by an unidentified poisonous snake at Mbambi village in the Mukwe Constituency.

The fatal attack occurred on Saturday while the boy was out herding cattle in the thick bushes of Mbabi village, in Kavango East Region.
The minor, identified as Ndunda Shinyemba, never made it to the nearest local clinic at the village as he died whilst being rushed there for immediate treatment.

Police detective, Chief Inspector Ewald Kavara, confirmed the incident to New Era.

In another incident still in Kavango East Region, a vehicle transporting about 18 learners of Shinyungwe Combined School from a soccer tournament overturned after the driver, Petrus Wanakashimba, 29, lost control of the vehicle.

The accident occurred in the early evening hours of Saturday at Shamangorwa village in Ndiyona Constituency.

The injured learners were immediately rushed to the nearest health facilities where they were admitted for observations.

Some received treatment at Andara Hospital, while others were rushed to the Nyangana Health Centre. All injured learners who were admitted were reported to be in a stable condition and were to be discharged today.
