An employee of the First National Bank of Namibia here, Dorthea Erasmus fears for her life after her former boyfriend set the flat she was renting on fire and threatened to kill her last week.

The incident that happened last Tuesday has seen Erasmus seeking refuge at the Opuwo police station. All her belongings were burnt.

The police have identified the suspect as 29-year-old Johannes Ndawana Kaulinge who is still at large. He works for Namib Contract Haulage in Walvis Bay.

Although regional police spokesperson, Inspector Petrus Shigwedha, could not confirm whether Erasmus is still boarding at the police charge office, he could, however, confirm that a case of arson has been registered with the police and investigations continue.

“It is true that the arson case has been registered and we are still on the lookout to apprehend the suspect,” said Shigwedha.

It is believed that the suspect could be hiding in nearby villages and shantytowns. To this end, Shigwedha has appealed to the public to assist the police in tracing him by contacting his office at: 065???_?_’???_?’???_???
