The 2016 edition of the Standard Bank Auto Show will display the latest and greatest new SUV’s, hybrids, minivans, high performance and economical cars and trucks on the road, said Bradwyn Beukes, acting Head of Personal and Business Banking at Standard Bank Namibia.

Speaking at the launch last week of the Standard Bank Auto Show, Beukes said the event is moving up a gear as organisers will include in the evolution of automobiles with the theme of “Old and new vehicles on display at the SKW sportsgrounds from 8 to 9 July. “Looking back at the previous shows, this event has definitely grown from strength to strength since its inception 10 years ago”, Beukes added.

He said back in 2006 the show attracted 2 500 visitors and last year 22 000 visitors flooded through the gates during the two days of the event. “Based on last year’s success the Standard Bank Auto Show recorded a total revenue value of N$74 million and is optimistic that this year’s show will exceed our expectation,” Beukes told the dealers and automotive suppliers.

He said this time around local dealers will be promoted where a platform will be created for selected dealers, suppliers and stakeholders in the market to create awareness for interested potential buyers over the two day period in a secure and closed environment. Beukes noted that 32 dealers are expected to participate in the show while on the entertainment side local and South African artists will perform during the event. Also there will be display of the latest vehicles on a rotating turn table as well as a display of old vs new vehicles.
