WINDHOEK – MTC Namibia premiership table-toppers African Stars are this weekend faced with the task of making extra sure they maintain their stronghold atop of the table when they face league rookies Citizens, tomorrow at the Sam Nujoma Stadium at 19h00.

The in-form African Stars have been very impressive in recent outings which saw them collect maximum points on their way to the log summit and should have little trouble dispatching Citizens, but Stars’ mentor Woody Jacobs will be well advised not to slip on a potential banana peel against the league tyros who are equally eager to prove a point or two.

Also in tomorrow’s action, Tura Magic are at the Sam Nujoma Stadium where they entertain Civics, in a match that could also go a long way in deciding Magic’s future survival among the top four on the log standings.

In another potentially exhilarating encounter, FNB Orlando Pirates square off against fellow stable-mates FNB Eleven Arrows at the Windhoek Independence Stadium also tomorrow, while Mighty Gunners are at home with a vital clash against LHU Blue Waters at the Mokati Stadium in Otjiwarongo. Still in tomorrow’s action, United Stars will confront Benfica at the Rundu Sports Stadium in the town, with Julinho Sporting taking on Touch & GO FC early in the day also at the Rundu Sports Stadium.
In midweek action, reigning champions Black Africa suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of a revamped Tigers at the Sam Nujoma Stadium on Wednesday. The pair of Denver Meyer and Lee-Roy Angula were on target for Tigers.
