WINDHOEK – African Stars coach Woody Jacobs is confident his squad can cope with the pressure and expectations going into the 2nd leg of the CAF Champions League encounter against Petro Athletico de Luanda this coming Saturday in Angola.

Jacobs, who promised his charges would be up for whatever surprises their Angolan counterparts might have in store for them, added that his brigade is mentally and physically well prepared and ready to put up with anything that will be thrown their way to ensure a smooth progression into the competition’s next round.

The 2-0 victory of Stars over Petro Atletico de Luanda last weekend at the Sam Nujoma Stadium gave them the upper hand going into the 2nd leg, but Jacobs feels there is still a lot of work to do in the coming 90-minutes and that gives them no reason to rest on their laurels, if they are to advance to the next stage.

“As a team, last weekend we proved what we are capable of and that we can also effectively compete at any level, so the challenge is now up to the players to prove how far we can go, but I’m confident we will emerge victorious this weekend and proceed.

Of course, the atmosphere and the hostility will not be the same as in Namibia, but we have to anticipate those situations and focus on getting a better result from the encounter,” said Jacobs speaking to New Era Sports recently.

All Stars supporters interested in traveling with the team to Angola have been urged to submit their names at the club’s office or otherwise to contact Sicky Veii on his mobile phone number – 0812613641, to book their place in advance, as they only have a 62-seater bus, which was provided to the club by the government.
