The much-anticipated Suko-White Open tournament, which was set for completion this weekend in Windhoek, has been moved to 29 November 2025 at the John ya Otto Nankudhu Soccer field in Wanaheda.

The inaugural tournament, worth N$40 000, composed of football and netball, started on 7 November and attracted 26 football teams while 20 teams vied in a netball competition.

However, the netball competition ended last weekend with Renamo Bucks from Okombomi stunning Otjinene’s Compo 38-30 in the final.

Renamo Bucks ladies received a trophy, a new netball kit and N$5 000 for winning the netball competition last weekend.

Epukiro Chiefs Ladies and their counterparts from Otjinambo, Young Stars came third in the competition.Competition organiser Menongongo Suko-White Kejarukua said the reason for rescheduling the football matches is due to the unavailability of a sports field in the capital.

“This was a big challenge as sports fields are scarce these days. We are now switched to 29 November, and we hope to complete it so players can prepare for other festive tournaments,” said Kejarukua. The games scheduled for next week on Saturday are between Top Score FC from Ezorongondo and Otjombinde’s Athletico FC in the first second round match at 08h00.

This will be followed by Otjikango tja Kamapingo FC, who will lock horns against Okaoveni FC from Otjinene in one of the categorised fixtures of the tournament. In the quarterfinal matches, Otjinoko-based Liverpool vs Okauua Rovers from Otjinene, followed by Windhoek’s Truck Team versus Riverheights FC. TF Mafumhe FC comprised of Zimbabwean nationals based in Namibia, will clash with Nxaire FC from Okatupapa in the last quarterfinal match. The football winner will take home a trophy, a full soccer kit and a cash amount of N$15 000, while the runners up will pocket N$7 500 and N$3 750 for the two semifinalists.

The competition is expected to end on 30 November 2025.
