Home Business Support local SMEs says Bank Windhoek

WINDHOEK – Bank Windhoek wants people to support local small and medium enterprises, saying it itself supports the SME sector through loans and the Bizzkids entrepreneurship competition for young people.

“By supporting local businesses to grow and expand, Bank Windhoek is creating an environment where local businesses have the opportunity to rise and dominate markets and reduce the country’s dependency on imported products and services. However, this opportunity can only become a reality if Namibian consumers support their local businesses,” the bank said in a statement this week. Consumers too should buy local goods to support local entrepreneurs and creating jobs for fellow citizens, support local community and stimulate the economy, the bank says. In addition by supporting local entrepreneurs Namibians can ensure that the money earned remains in the country and benefit the entire economy.

“It is not enough for Bank Windhoek and other local institutions only to support the business ideas of our budding entrepreneurs. For local businesses to thrive, they need the support of every Namibian. Every time you buy a locally produced product, you are essentially playing your role in ensuring the sustainability of a local business and supporting the growth of the local economy,” said Mbo Luvindao the manager of the SME branch at Bank Windhoek.
