WALVIS BAY – Narraville resident and suspected drug dealer, Clive Jenecke (50), was denied bail last week Friday when he made his first appearance in court following his arrest at the town for being in possession of mandrax tablets and cannabis.
Jenecke, who allegedly already served a sentence on a similar charge a few years ago, appeared before Magistrate Vicky Nicolaidis in the Walvis Bay Magistrate’s Court.
State prosecutor, Eden Iyambo, requested that bail should not be granted at this stage as some of Jenecke’s previous convictions are still outstanding and lab results still need to be conducted on the drugs found in his possession during his arrest.
Jenecke was then informed that he will not be granted bail at this stage however he can lodge a formal bail application through a lawyer of his choice.
His case was postponed to February for further investigation.
Deputy Commissioner Ottilie Kashuupulwa yesterday told New Era that Jenecke was found with mandrax tablets as well as cannabis, resulting in his arrest. The street value of the drugs is estimated to be N$4 900.
