WINDHOEK – Mario Bereng became a robbery victim on Friday when he was allegedly robbed of N$800 in cash and a pair of shoes, losing a combined N$1050.
The state alleges that 35-year-old Magdalena Jooste and 21-year-old Steven Gaingob robbed him of his cash and shoes at the Katutura cemetery in Golgotha. The two allegedly cut the victim with a broken bottle and kicked him.
They were granted bail of N$1000 each and the matter was remanded to November 06 to allow them to apply for legal aid and further police investigation. Jooste and Gaingob face a charge of robbery with aggravating circumstances.
Magistrate Ivan Gawanab presided, the public prosecutor was Peter Kandjumbwa.
