Swart Baster drops two videos in one month

Swart Baster, real name Allen Jonathan, is on a mission to solidify his position as a musical legend as he gears up to release his new album titled ‘Expandables’.

In a space of two weeks, the ‘My Hart Maak Ding Dong’ hitmaker released two music videos even before the album is dropped.

The first video is called ‘Hartloos’ and the second ‘Kasuthu kayela’.

“The Hartloos video was released on YouTube two weeks ago, and the other one was released this week,” he said.

Jonathan is well known for dapping into Afrikaans and is once again showing his ability to infuse the language into his music again.

“Well, singing in Afrikaans has been my favourite in terms of showing my talent to the world at large, and I believe my fans missed seeing me doing Afrikaans music; this is why I am back to it again,” he told VIBEZ!

Jonathan said the Hartloos video is about explaining how he has done it all.

“The video is a good example and teaching to those who are experiencing the same situation. If they can listen to it, they will learn a lot,” he explained.

“My second video is about a beautiful flower. In the Nyemba language, I am singing about a beautiful girl whom I call Kasuthu kayela. She stole my heart and I am in love with her and she is running away from me and I am telling her that ‘I will follow you wherever you go’.”

The Naughty Crew head honcho took a sabbatical from the music scene to focus on family and other ventures. His son Luzendo Asher Jonathan (11), going by the stage name DJ Luzendo, in 2021 decided to pursue music like his father.

“My son is getting booked like nobody’s business; everyone wants him to do something. He has also recorded a new track called ‘Golgota’ which’s making noise everywhere. He will be performing on the 1st of September at Independence Arena. The event is called Be Free.”

The NAMA award winner is going ahead full steam with his music career, vowing to put in the much-needed effort before the year ends.

“Right now, the plan is to work hard and enjoy later because opportunities never return. I will be looking for shows dropping more videos and promoting my work non-stop,” he stated.
