A 14-year-old girl was reportedly raped at Okahandja’s dumping site in the Nau-Aib location in the early hours of Saturday, while on her way home.

The incident happened around 03h00 when the girl was approached by a known suspect.

 He reportedly took her to the dumping site area, where he forcefully had sexual intercourse with her.
No arrest was made, since the suspect fled the scene.
In a separate incident, a 52-year-old man was arrested at Okatope in the Oshikoto region after he allegedly raped a mentally challenged girl.
The incident reportedly happened on Friday around 00h00 when the suspect entered the victim’s sleeping room and forced himself on her.
“It is further alleged that the victim was in the sleeping room with a nine-year-old boy, who ran out to wake up the victim’s father and informed him about the man in their sleeping room,” a weekend crime report of the Namibian Police Force reads.

The suspect has been arrested and was set to appear before the Ondangwa Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
Police investigations into both matters continue.
