Two teenagers yesterday appeared in court charged with the murder of a man.
The alleged murder of Kapumburu Augustinus Katemo, 35, took place at Ndama in Rundu on Saturday. The victim was domiciled at Nkurenkuru in Kavango West.
The two accused, Katura Winfried, 18, and a 16-year-old whose name cannot be revealed as he is still a minor, are both residents of Ndama location where the crime was committed.
Both accused were denied bail when they appeared before Rundu magistrate Helen Olaiya. Tjeripo Muruko presented the State’s case.
It was reported that between midnight on Saturday and 06h00 on Sunday at Ndama location, Rundu district, the deceased was allegedly beaten with an unknown object and he died on the spot from the injuries he sustained.
The case was remanded to April 19 for further police investigations and for legal aid and screening. Both accused were informed by the court of their right to a formal bail application.
