Tennis association to host final 2025 tournament

The Namibia Tennis Association (NTA) will host its final senior tournament of the year next weekend, with organisers calling on more entries to make the showdown a memorable one.

Tournament director Larushka Kruger said they expect over 25 players to register for the competition, which will be held at Central Tennis Club in Windhoek.

“We expect all our top players to enter this event, which marks the last for 2025. With this being the closing tournament of the year, we want to end it in style by having the best compete for top honours,” she said. Kruger explained that the tournament will play a decisive role in paving the way for the prestigious NTA Masters, scheduled to take place a month later.

“It is crucial for players to participate, as this event will determine who qualifies for the Masters. I’m really looking forward to seeing how the players perform. It has been an exciting year with a variety of tournaments, both locally and internationally,” she added.

With a packed calendar that saw Namibian players gain more exposure and experience at home and abroad, Kruger said fans can expect high-intensity action next weekend. “So much tennis was played this year, and many of our players had the opportunity to test themselves on big stages. I believe this final event will produce fireworks and keep fans on the edge of their seats,” she said. Entries for singles are pegged at N$150 and N$300 for the doubles.
