FNB Orlando Pirates’ free-scoring striker Terdius Uiseb appears to be well on course to finish as the MTC Premiership top scorer for the 2015/2016 season as he currently tops the charts with 16 goals – although the race is by no means over with other big names also still in contention for the Golden Boot award.

Currently stationed in 3rd place on the league log table with 39 points from 23 matches played so far, Orlando Pirates is one of the clubs in the top 4 that have somewhat enjoyed a great ride in their ongoing league title quest.

Pirates have so far only lost six of their 23 league matches, recording 11 victories in the process following the conclusion of last weekend’s round of matches.

That success can be attributed to the undying efforts of striker Uiseb and his ever hardworking teammates, but the recently called-up Brave Warriors player has proven to be a serious pillar of strength for the Buccaneers as the lanky goal-poacher always rises to the occasion when tough times call for something special.

As usual, Uiseb last weekend came to the rescue of Pirates when he netted the only goal of the match to help Pirates overpower a stubborn Young Chiefs 1-0 at the Sam Nujoma Stadium. The prolific striker could extend his dominance atop the goal-scorers chart when they take on Civics in this weekend’s round of matches.

Second on the top goal-scorers charts is MTC premiership log leaders Tigers’ highly lethal marksman Mapenzi Muwanei, who trails with 10 goals for Ingwenyama. In joint third place are Black Africa’s Muna Katupose and Unam’s Upengisa Ujaha who boast 9 goals each.

Uaondjarure Nambare (Mighty Gunners), Manuel Francisco and Simeon Wilbard (both United Stars), Vincent Namiseb (Flamingoes) and Roger Katjiteo (Black Africa) are all on seven goals each.

As defending champions, not a single African Stars player features in the top-20 of the latest top goal-scorers charts, not even last season’s top goal scorer Nicky Musambani, who is now with Stars.

Musambani who scooped the Golden Boot award last season in the colours of Orlando Pirates, has this season only netted two goals for African Stars so far.
