EENHANA – Award winningmusicians, The Dogg, Gazza and the Exit along with upcoming artists from the Ohangwena region, are some of the performers headlining the Eenhana Trade Fair and Expo 2014.
The Fair, starts this Sunday till next Sunday, August 3, bringing together business exhibitors, revelers and the public as well as artists together from all corners of the country. A beauty contest to crown Miss and Mr Eenhana is part of the entertainment attractions. Eenhana Town Council spokesperson, Paullo Shilongo, says “some of the local acts like Nakale yaNakale and Kuku Kandanga are still to confirm because we have requested them to be on the line up as well”.
Since its inception, the Eenhana Fair has attracted many popular musicians because of their demand in the Ohangwena region, that is starved of music shows. Shilongo is further urging all family members and revelers to come in their dozens promising them plenty of entertainment except for traditional food cuisines. “We have quiz games and many prizes will be won at this year’s expo.”
Simon Sheefeni, one of the Mshasho fan here is in a jovial mood when hearing his favourite musician will be performing in Eenhana. “Yes and thanks to the Eenhana Town Council, we miss this guy so much that sometimes we used to hear that he is performing in Ongwediva but we didn’t have money to go that far. At least now that the main man will be in town, definitely, l will budget for the show,” he excites.
Most of the Eenhana revelers are starved when it comes to music shows as they will have to wait for events like the Kapuka Tournament, Trade Fairs and Expos and other events here in the North that attract most established musicians from the capital city of Windhoek. An Exit fan, Lydia Ndamona, is equally in the seventh haven to hear her best musician coming to perform in Eenhana. “I really can’t wait to see Exit on stage and l have budgeted for the show,” she adds.
Local acts from Ohangwena region that will perform at the Eenhana Trade Fair and Expo include Chella-Boy, LMT 906 and Omp’tine. This year’s Eenhana Trade Fair and Expo will be held under the theme Transforming traditional business into global trending enterprises.
