There is room for improvement – Eichab …Unam hold Stars

There is room for improvement – Eichab …Unam hold Stars

Despite a convincing 3-1 win over Julinho Sporting on Saturday, Fortune Eichab, Khomas Namibian Police (NamPol) gaffer said their performance was not the best.

He said if they are to contest for the title, they should improve.

NamPol played their second match of the season on Saturday, facing the Rundu-based team Julinho.

NamPol picked up maximum points for the season.

In an interview after the match on Saturday, Eichab expressed excitement about collecting maximum points.

“We are trying to build a new team. We tried new things, but we couldn’t manage. Julinho came out in the second half guns blazing. They played better. Those tall guys upfront bullied us. We eventually managed to cope with the pressure. When they (Julinho) scored, they started wasting time. In football, the second you start wasting time, it would come back to haunt you,” he said.

The coach was quick to point out that there are so many elements that are lacking within his charges.

“I am happy. Three goals in five minutes – that’s very incredible, but we still have a long way to go. There are a few things we need to work on. There is defensive shape, attacking phase, and so many other lacking parts. We can do much better. We need to work on our delivery. Once we fix that, I am sure we can get where we want to,” he stated.

In other results on Friday, reigning Debmarine champions African Stars were held to a 0-all draw against Unam in a tie at the Independence Stadium.

Young African played to a 1-all draw against Civics.

On Saturday, Blue Boys edged newly promoted side KK Palace 2-1, while Young Brazilian collected maximum points in their backyard as they brushed off Cuca Tops with a 2-1 scoreline.

Mighty Gunners recorded a win after they narrowly beat Tigers 1-0.

Coastal outfit Blue Waters played to a 1-all draw.
