Log leaders Tura Magic Ladies Football Club are set to all but confirm their league title victory when they face V-Power Angels on Saturday at the Namibia Football Associations NFA Technical Centre.
The match will be one of three games that are outstanding as the FNB 2022/23 Women’s Super League inches to the conclusion.
Magic currently have 65 points, and a victory over V-Angels will see Magic open an 11-point gap at the top and all but confirmed as champion.
During an exclusive interview with New Era Sport, Justine Hamupolo emphasised the team’s unwavering commitment to every game, refusing to underestimate any opponent in the highly competitive super league.
She acknowledged the upcoming encounter with V-Power will be a formidable challenge but remained optimistic about their chances.
“We approach each game with utmost seriousness – never taking any opponent for granted – as every three points are crucial to our cause. As a team, we maintain a positive mindset, striving to emerge victorious in every match,” she expressed
Hamupolo further elaborated on the significance of securing a triumph against V-Power, saying a victory in the match will determine the destiny of the title race.
“Our ultimate objective is to retain the championship, as our dedicated players have invested immense effort throughout this season
“Our preparations are on track – thanks to the relentless work put in by the girls. We will focus on a few key aspects in the lead-up to this crucial encounter against V-Power,” she said.
Meanwhile, Risto Shikomba, the head coach of V-Power Angels, expressed concerns about the absence of several key players due to injuries.
Despite these setbacks, he affirmed his team’s readiness to face Tura Magic.
“Unfortunately, we have had to contend with the absence of several vital players due to injuries. We anticipate a tough challenge against Tura Magic. Nevertheless, we remain fully prepared for the forthcoming match,” he commented.
In other fixtures, Girls and Goalz will go head-to-head with Unam Bokkies, while Ramblers Ladies are set to clash with Omaheke Queens at the same venue.
