Last weekend saw no less than three FNB Classic Clashes in action when Otjiwarongo Secondary School, Etosha Secondary School, Moria Private School and Edugate Academy met on the netball fields, while Tsumeb Gymnasium and Windhoek Afrikaanse Private School confronted each other on the rugby field in Tsumeb on Saturday.

Etosha defeated hosts Otjiwarongo 18-15, Edugate also emerged victorious edging Moria 30-27.
The prestigious FNB Player of the Match Award went to Ura Garere (Etosha) and Sone Kuhn (Edugate).

The Namib Mills Heroines accolade went to Octavia Tsibes (Otjiwarongo) for her par excellence academic achievements complemented by her dedication and good behaviour at school. Mandie Krone (Moria) walked away with the Namib Mills heroine for her sport achievements and being a great team leader.

The Namib Mills Heroes/Heroines recipient is chosen by fellow scholars and normally target the best performing players and scholars who are role models in their respective communities.

In the only rugby match, Tsumeb Gymnasium had the better of the proceedings when the copper town lads walloped cross-town rivals Chris-Mari Potgieter 25-13.

The youngsters added to their tally when they were crowned Namib Mills Heroes while Johan Luttig returned the compliment by walking away with the Man of the Match Award.
