Tigers mentor Brian Isaacs is convinced his charges have the required mental and physical stamina to keep up with the pressure at the top of the MTC Premiership League, this is after yesterday’s 3-2 victory over United Stars at the Rundu Sports stadium.

With yesterday’s victory and Saturday’s 1-all draw against Julinho Sporting at the same venue, Tigers collected a total of four points from both matches, which saw their stay at the summit of the log table extended by five points.
On Saturday, striker Mapenzi Muwanei was on target for Tigers, while Henry Duve equalised for Julinho to end the match in a stalemate. But yesterday the marauding Tigers were in a mean mood as they went all-out to pounce on United Stars – with two goals from Mapenzi and one from Kamushasha Imbodi propelling them to a satisfactory 3-2 victory.

“It has so far been a very interesting ride and I’m really happy with the team’s performance. I didn’t expect us to be where we are. It’s all thanks to the players that have kept pushing and always making sure they give their best. I know the pressure will intensify with every match, but I have the experience and the players to keep up with the mounting pressure,” Isaacs said.

“Saturday’s draw against Julinho Sporting was not so satisfying, but today (Sunday) we managed to regroup and bounce back. That’s our character and I want to make sure the boys maintain that kind of attitude going forward. It’s a challenge in a way, because I also have to make sure the players don’t get carried away,” he said.
