MTC Premiership outfit Black Africa’s title credentials have been severely dented. The Gemengde outfit was held to an uninspiring 2-all draw by old nemesis Unam in the first of a double header at the Sam Nujoma Stadium on Saturday.
The result left Woody Jacobs’ title-chasing soldiers with an insurmountable task of staying within touching distance of runaway leaders Tigers.
The latter are yet to taste defeat this term with only nine matches remaining before the curtain closes on the 2015/2016 league campaign, and could all but seal the title when they confront BA in a potential title decider in their next league encounter on Saturday.
In other action, Mighty Gunners demolished league rookies Young Chiefs 6-1 in a seven-goal thriller at the Mokati Stadium in Otjiwarongo.
Rundu Chiefs thrashed a hapless Citizens 4-2 at the Sam Nujoma Stadium, while Flamingoes and Tura Magic shared the spoils in a 1-all stalemate at the Rehoboth Stadium to complete Saturday’s lineup.
In yesterday’s action, Unam finally returned to winning ways with a comprehensive 3-1 victory over relegation-bound Flamingoes at the Rehoboth Stadium on a day that saw three other matches ending in a stalemate.
Hosts Mighty Gunners and rejuvenated Rundu Chiefs played out a goalless draw in Otjiwarongo, while Citizens and Young Chiefs cancelled each other out in a two-goal thriller.
Black Africa all but bade adios to any aspirations they might have entertained to dislodge MTC Premiership leaders Tigers from the pedestal. The dethroned record four times Namibian champions were stopped right in their tracks by Tura Magic in a dull goalless draw at the Sam Nujoma Stadium, yesterday.
