Tjiroze aims high with Ongos

Tjiroze aims high with Ongos

Zebaldt Ngaruka

Following his recent appointment as Ongos Valley FC team manager, Vehonga Tjiroze said he aims to achieve more with the club both on and off the field.

He said that it is a blessing to be part of a well-structured team that has a winning mentality.

“My priority will be to help the club achieve its objectives which are to be the best at whatever they do on and off the field. I will do my utmost to achieve that,” Tjiroze said.

The team manager said Ongos FC has the best technical team and is led by the youngest coach to ever win the Namibia Premiership.

Tjiroze expressed his gratitude to the management, the board, the director and the head coach who entrusted him with the immense task. “I feel fortunate about this appointment, we have a well-balanced squad that comprises experienced players in Wangu Ngome, Oswaldo Xamseb, Larry Horaeb, and Okeri Maekopo to name a few,” he said.

He also acknowledged the talented elite youth in Simon Elago, Nicodemus Haikali, Punaje Katjimune, Tuazuu Toromba and Engilio Goagoseb.

Tjiroze’s prime target this season is to win the premier league, qualify for the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League and win all domestic cup competitions.

The team manager possesses vast experience in managing sports at the school level and for the past three years, he was a chairperson of the Khomas Primary School Soccer League. “I was the treasurer of Khomas Schools Sport Region the past three years and served as team manager for Patriot FC in Khomas second division for the past two seasons,” he said.

Tjiroze was also the team manager of Namibia’s football U/15 national team that participated in the CAF championship in Walvis Bay this year.
